Canmore Real Estate Newsletter May 2020

Thriving in our New Normal

As we all continue to work through these unprecedented times it is great to see the blue sky and longer days. We are seeing many people out enjoying the beautiful mountains that we get the pleasure to call home. We are so proud of the many locals that are helping each other and following the guidelines to keep us all safe.

As expected, we saw a significant decline in sales in April. From the adjusted number in 2019 (there was 30 new construction sales entered that skewed the data) we saw a decrease of 78% year over year. By mid-May we had already matched the total number of firm sales for all of April and we are continuing to see buyers re-engage in their real estate search.

Regarding listings, we saw a decline from April but would expect to see more sellers put their homes on the market in the coming weeks/months that may have held off due to COVID-19.

I am excited to be of continuous help to my clients both in selling their mountain homes or helping them live their Canmore dream. I am here to help and answer questions, please do not hesitate to let me know how I  can help.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of the front-line workers and volunteers who have helped in so many ways. I continue to hope you and your loved ones are healthy.
